Environmental Impact Assessment Services

PEC has project experience including varying degrees of technical studies pertaining to new developments and modernization programs for projects such as highways, airports, rail lines, hotels, shopping centers, commercial and industrial facilities, residential/mixed-use developments, cogeneration facilities, and government and health care facilities. PEC has also been responsible for obtaining federal, state and local agency permits required for project implementation and has provided expert testimony in support of project applications and environmental studies performed.

PEC has managed the preparation of environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, site feasibility studies, findings of no significant impact (FONSI), environmental assessment forms and project data statements to comply with various review agency requirements. These have been prepared pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act; state environmental legislation such as New Jersey's Executive Order and Coastal Area Facility Review Act (CAFRA), the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), the New York City Environmental Quality Review Act (CEQRA) and various municipal environmental regulations.

Environmental documents have been prepared by PEC for review by lead agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the New Jersey Highway Authority, the New York State Department of Transportation, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the New York City Public Development Corporation, the New York City Department of Transportation, the New York City Departments of Environmental Protection and City Planning, the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Transportation - Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other review agencies at the State and local levels.

PEC has presented the findings of environmental studies at numerous public hearings and local planning boards associated with the project review process.
